Turn the Tables

First things first: I'm so sorry for the lack of reviews on Tuesday and Thursday. I totally forgot to put into consideration the fact that I have debate on those days, so I think I'm going to make Saturdays and Sundays "makeup days." You know, to make up for post(s) I was supposed to post earlier in the week but never did? :)

Now. This post is about Adele and plot twists. Hang around. (This one's for you, Adele.)

JOIN AURA'S ARMY!!!

Once upon a time, there was a YA Crush Tournament.
Once upon a time, there was a book called SHADE.

Before the Happily Ever After... it's time for you to vote in the YA Heroines Tournament for Aura!!! (Voting lasts for 24-hours, from 12/13/11 to 12/14/11, so hurry!)

I HAVE PRIZES! INCENTIVES, ALL!!! COME ON! LET'S GET THIS ARMY STARTED!

1) An early Merry Christmas... Hey, hey, do you still need to buy a Christmas gift? Have you run out of money? Or are you just feeling a bit voracious and want to just, oh, I don't know, WIN something?

IF YOU VOTE FOR AURA, YOU MIGHT WIN....

THAT'S RIGHT! A $15 BARNES & NOBLE GIFT CARD! I mean, since you're on my blog, I'm pretty sure you like reading. And there's plenty of uses for such a card, no?

So. If Aura wins (and only if Aura wins! Sorry. My money supply is dangerously low), one U.S. only (sorry) winner will receive a $15 Barnes & Noble Gift Card! YAY!!!

2) Muuuusic! Okay, so, I kinda sorta write music and play a bunch of instruments, and I wrote my own version to Forever by Logan Keeley. I'm not going to post the link, 'cause I'm doing something special with it right now, and don't wanna ruin the surprise, ya know? (Shh! Don't tell Jeri! I mean, she knows, but she doesn't know about the surprise, soooo... HEY! I saw you! No, no, don't you dare go tell on me! *holds out plate of cookies* PLEEEEASE?)

Ah. The point: I'll write music to something in SHADE! I know you probably care about my music as much as I care about cabbages, but hey, don't you wanna at least see me fail so you can laugh at me? 'cause I'm giving you permission to do that. Yeah. Okay, not the best thing ever, but it's something, isn't it? So, as long as you vote for Aura, you can make a suggestion to a scene or whatever in SHADE, SHIFT, or SHINE (if you're lucky enough to have read it already and don't mind, ya know, telling me some of the stuff. ;) ) I should compose about! (I say suggestion because I can't guarantee any inspiration.)

*EDITED TO ADD*
AND NOW WE HAVE 3!!!!

3) A FULL SHADE SERIES GIVEAWAY! Jazmin is made of awesome, you guys. She's so awesome that she offered-guess what?!?! A FULL SHADE SERIES GIVEAWAY!!! CAN YOU BELIEVE IT?!?! Y'all should go and thank Jazmin for being so awesome! (Note: This is another win-win situation. For you to win, Aura has to win, too, so GO VOTE FOR AURA!!!)

That's... it. I know it's not a lot, but it's only Round 1, and I've got to save some tricks prizes up my sleeve! So, go vote for Aura, leave a comment with your e-mail address on this blog, follow moi blog if you want (+3 entries if you do, but obviously you don't have to), tweet and tell everyone to vote for Aura (+1 for each link. You don't have to link to this post; just telling everyone to vote for Aura would suffice!), and WIN LOTS OF AWESOME STUFF!

Oh, and of course, run over to Brooke's blog and tell her she did an amazing job advocating Aura, will ya? Tell her Juli sent you. :)

Merry Thanksgiving!

Colorful pumpkins in fall Free Photo
(sung to the tune of Deck the Halls)
'Tis the season to eat yummy
turkey and potatoes with gravy.
Please have a happy Thanksgiving
with family and friends, it's time to sing.

Now I know what you are thinking,
it's not Christmas it's Thanksgiving!
But I say we stick with spirit,
holidays are here, let's show our wit.

I am grateful for many things,
you and books and basically everything.
Music makes my life interesting
so many thanks for everything.

Now's the time to be quite grateful
this is only celebrated once a year!
Hugs and high-fives are encouraged
and eat lots, too! Whoops and cheers.

Thank you to my family and friends
for being there for me, though I digress.
Really, you all rock my socks off
and you deserve much more, than just a song.

Now let us join together
and sing this song of praise and thanks!
I am grateful for all of you
happy Thanksgiving, and please stay true.

Yes, I did just come up with all of those lyrics. Yes, I meant every word. Yes, you may use this and sing it, but please do credit back to me. :)

Music Monday ♫ {3}

Music Monday is a weekly meme started by Jena at Shortie Says!

Clearly, I have been turning a blind eye on the "weekly" part of this meme, but, ahem, here it is:

One and Only by Adele
Adele. Goodness, there are no words to describe this amazing woman's phenomenal vocals. It's just... I can't imagine what it must be like, to stand in front of thousands of people, open your mouth, and have that just... heart-wrenching voice come out. I guess you can describe both her music and Adele herself as beautiful, but that just doesn't cut it. She's much more than that, and I think this is also the type of character we all like to read about. Someone who is so much more than what they appear at the surface. :)

Music Monday ♫

Music Monday is a meme started by the awesome Jena at Shortie Says!

I think this is the first cover of Skyscraper I've heard that actually nailed the high note at the end. AND in acapella. Awesome, right?

LOL. This song is so catchy...

Um, this is AWESOME. AMAZING. AWE-INDUCING (<-- that's why I saved it for last).

That's all the music for this week! :)

What are you listening to?

A star fit for Disney!

I was cruising around on Youtube, you see, and, well, I stumbled across a very talented singer.

Nick Piteria

What distinguishes Nick from other artists is that he can play all parts and sing all parts of a song/movie equally well. My favorite video of his (so far) is his One Man Disney Movie. It's a little bit long, but come on, those vocals are worth the 8 minutes. If you don't believe me, listen to it yourself.
Nick also does wonderful popular contemporary covers, such as this cover of The Edge of Glory-Lady Gaga.

That's it for the short blog news!
Check back tomorrow for more Reviews News, including a headline feature review of Delirium by Lauren Oliver!
